Forty quilts made by the ladies of the Zachry Quilting Z's were delivered to the children at Respite Care of San Antonio. With age ranges from one to 17, each child will get to pick a quilt of their choosing and it will be theirs to keep.

Each year a companywide raffle is held to raise money for the materials it takes to make donated quilts for a good cause. Thank you Quilting Z's for all the time you spend in making these beautiful quilts!

Zachry Construction recently hosted a second round of Texas A&M University Construction Academy students at our North Texas district office. The students toured the equipment shop, looked at motor graders, and made concrete Z’s. Team members were thrilled to share their experiences and encourage the students to explore a career in construction. Thank you to our Zachry team members for making it possible!

Thank you Zachry volunteers for Building Freedom for the Homebound! More than 40 Zachry volunteers supported the Texas Ramp Project (TRP) in Richardson, TX on Saturday building five ramps as part of the Zachry Days of Caring project. The TRP organization has locations around Texas and provides ramps for people with mobility issues who can’t afford to buy one. https://www.texasramps.org/

Shout-out to our Zachry team members who volunteered to beautify the Hospitality House of Charlotte, North Carolina this weekend! The Hospitality House of Charlotte provides lodging for displaced patients receiving medical area and their families/caregivers.

The Texas A&M Summer Bridge program hosts first-generation female engineering students getting them acclimated to college life and helping them succeed during their first year at Texas A&M. Zachry has supported the program since inception. Senior Talent and Development Manager Megan Medina and Zachry Construction Field Engineer Kinsey Dean participated in an interactive presentation to the students. Each student made their own concrete rose and listened to personal advice on how to succeed in college, find internships, prepare resumes and applications.

Kinsey Dean walked through a day-in-the-life of a field engineer with photos and videos of projects giving the students a reality check into the type of work and skill level they can accomplish. Thank you, Megan and Kinsey, for helping future female engineers succeed.

Zachry team members, friends, and family spent Saturday helping the Texas Diaper Bank. It's become a tradition and these volunteers look forward to helping Texas families. Way to go!

Congratulations to the Career Exploration Program interns for finishing their first week at Zachry Construction. The week included learning safety procedures, the importance of cyber security, participated in a Virtual Reality program that allows the users to work on collaborative designs, went over the Bluebeam program and planned out Friday's project visit by looking at the terrain in Google Earth to scope out the landscape. Then they prepared for the visit of the GBRA Lake Dunlap project by creating a flight path for the sUAS, (small Unmanned Aircraft) to capture technical project data. Welcome to Zachry Construction!

Zachry Corporation partnered with non-profit organization Bridges to Prosperity (B2P) in a collaborative effort to construct two foot-bridges in the country of Uganda. The purpose of each foot-bridge was to provide access to essential healthcare, fresh water, food sources and educational opportunities for the local men, women and children within a specific region of Uganda. Founded in 2001, B2P adopted the powerful mission of ending poverty due to rural isolation. They believe that connection is the foundation for opportunity. In countries like Uganda, a footbridge means safe, year-round access to markets, fresh water, schools and healthcare.

Twenty Zachry employee volunteers left for Uganda on Feb. 27, 2020 to build two, cable-stay footbridges across the Banyal and Tabagon ravines in eastern Uganda. A team of 10 volunteers were assigned to each bridge. Zachry Construction Capitol Aggregates and Zachry Underground and Utility Systems all teamed up to participate.
