The project consists of the construction of a new Sewer Lift Station including abandonment and removal of the existing Sewer Lift Station located in Schertz, TX. The work includes the installation of 3,700 LF of 48” FRP pipe and manholes, and the decommissioning of the existing 27” and 15” Sewer lines. The work involves boring of 66” steel sasing under the UPR Railroad Track and FM78, trenching to an average depth of 24’, sewer bypassing 24 Hrs. a day while installing the new FRP Pipe. Underground residential electric distribution and electrical terminations in existing subdivisions and apartments within CPS Energy’s service area. Rehabilitating direct buried cable to cable in conduit and changing out transformers for a more reliable service..

Zachry Underground & Utility Services (ZUUS) installed new electric, gas and telecom infrastructure for the new Texas A&M San Antonio campus. The project had a very limited schedule of completion so ZUUS crews worked simultaneously with the General Contractor crews to complete the project safely and ahead of schedule.

Zachry Underground & Utility Services (ZUUS) upgraded the electrical infrastructure for the Methodist Children’s Hospital by placing underground electric manholes, duct banks, cast-in-place transformer and switchgear pads.  Once the street work was completed, ZUUS milled and asphalt overlaid Medical Drive. The project was worked in coordination with the General Contractor but also nine other subcontractors to complete the project safely and ahead of schedule.

ZUUS is a contractor for CPS Energy covering San Antonio, TX, Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Medina and Wilson counties. Projects include a variety of underground electric infrastructure projects including manholes, electric duct banks, vaults, transformer, and switchgear pads. Eighty percent of the projects are located in very congested work areas including downtown San Antonio.

Through CPS Energy contracts, ZUUS has completed large duct bank and manhole projects such as Comal Substation to Hemisphere Park, Commerce Street and South Presa, and Alameda Theater to increase electric power to these areas.

CPS Energy work also includes installing large electric substations. For example, ZUUS helped design and install a tunnel system across an existing substation safely and ahead of schedule to provide power to the Capitol Cement Plant with no shut down of power.
